Artist's Statement & Bio

I've been a fine artist specializing in two dimensional mixed media abstracts for over 15 years. Photographs have often been the source for my paintings. I've also done home portraiture from client's photographs. I graduated, summa cum laude from Carlow College in Pittsburgh, PA, in 1997, with a BA in Fine Art/Art Education.

I started using digital photography for my painting portfolio and web-site in 1999 and began hand-coloring my original 35mm black & white and digital prints in 2001. Later that year, I started creating hand-colored photographs from old family snapshots scanned into my computer. After a lot of research and experimentation, I created my own digital darkroom.
